XYZ Micropositioning System Based on Compliance Mechanisms Fabricated by Additive Manufacturing

چکیده

This article presents the design and implementation of a micropositioning system actuated by three piezoelectric stacks to control its displacements on XYZ axes. The use conventional buzzers allows us reduce fabrication costs. working or mobile platform is base for objects that will be manipulated, example, in automated assembling. micropositioner can integrated into microgripper generate complete manipulation system. For fabrication, at first, Polylactic Acid (PLA) was chosen as structural material, but after simulation some experimental tests performed with made Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), it showed larger displacement (approx. 20%) due lower stiffness. A third test positioner Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG), obtaining an intermediate performance. originality this work resides geometrical arrangement based thermoplastic polymer compliance mechanisms, well additive manufacturing fabricate it. An setup developed carry out tests. ANSYS™ used simulation.
